Blake's Bone Fish Friday

Here's a Bone Fish. They are very common on the Atlantic waters. For fly fishermen they like to catch this on the flats (shallow waters). We don't see many in the Pacific, but they are here. Bone fish, although small in size are very strong! This one was a catch and release as they are not very tasty on the dinner plate.

Fly fishing

The art of Fly fishing is enjoying the moment and creating the perfect opportunity for a fish to strike. Two clients were here from Chicago and enjoyed a morning right here in Sayulita on the surf fly fishing.
They had been fly fishing for just over a year and  Popperman helped them practice and improve their technique. It´s not catching. It´s fishing. A true fly fisherman isn't concerned about what they catch but rather the experience and process of fishing.

SKSF Update

We have been busy and this is a very good thing. We have had 5 trips so far in March...and it ´s only the 8th! The blog pics are just a sample of our many happy clients! Fish are a bitin´in Sayulita, Nayarit, Mexico. Jorge Popperman knows what is biting where and what lures and bait to use.

Our dreams are coming true with a new boat, La Tortuga 2, scheduled to be on the water in the near future. We have some very generous people in our life who believe in us. Popperman´s dream is simple.  It isnt to own a bunch of boats. He wants to have the best custom designed boat here in Sayulita so he can personally take you fishing for the best day of your life.

He is a fishing dude.

Sayulita Beach is forever changing, growing adapting. It started as a fishing spot and has sweet waves that tantalize surfers both local and from abroad. Today there was a Captains meeting to discuss the future of the beach where the fishing boats are located.
Will more surf and beach chair rentals be set up?  Will the boats have to move over? Will there be a marina or dock created? What factors both environmental and economical need to be considered?
We will keep you posted on plans of action from the meeting.

Calle Pescadores, the road directly behind the fishing boats is now paved. It is a malacon boardwalk path with no vehicle traffic. It leads towards the famous boutique hotel Villa Amor and
 Playa Los Muertos. Calle Pescadores was just lined with sparkly new benches for public use. Great spot to take in the breath taking view of the Pacific Ocean & maybe sight a whale or dolphin jumping
Sayulita is a top notch tourist destination that is both charming and beautiful.
